Providing Mental Health Assessments

Individual, Family, and Group Counseling

C.H.O.I.C.E. Counseling Services is dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families deal with certain issues so they can live a more meaningful life. In addition to counseling, we offer mental health crisis interventions, clinical mental health assessments, home and school community-based services, grief counseling, marriage and family therapy, groups, and trauma-focused treatment.

Individual Counseling

Individual counseling covers a wide variety of cognitive, behavioral, emotional, and mental health concerns. Mental health disorders such as depression, suicide ideation, trauma, abuse, neglect, anxiety, low self-esteem, ADHD, oppositional defiance, conduct disorder, and anger management are given special attention to let clients live meaningful lives in their community while striving to achieve their full potential.

Marriage and Family Therapy

This is focused on helping family members think and behave more adaptively and learn to make better choices in their efforts to get needs met. With this therapy, the family environment can become more stable and peaceful.

Insight, empathy, respect, and caring are enhanced when family members invest in the treatment. Once each member changes their cognitive thought process, better choices and decisions may follow.

The goal is to strengthen the entire family and achieve a greater level of family connectedness. We also aim to improve family functioning and restore familial relationships by understanding and accepting their roles within the family system.

Individual & Family Assessments

Clinical assessments are completed to assess a client's basic emotional or physical needs. The assessment also provides evidence of research-based correlated disorders.

Furthermore, the assessment evaluates the severity of the level of impairment to the client’s functioning to determine appropriate level of care as well as the efficacy of treatment. Some of the assessments we provide include:

  • Marriage and Family Assessments
  • Substance Abuse Assessments
  • Psychosocial Mental Health Assessments
  • Trauma Assessments

Trauma-Focused Treatment

We also help youth and adults overcome severe emotional distress with trauma-focused treatments. These include trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) for youth and cognitive processing therapy and/or eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR) for adults.
